First and foremost, our methods of recycling keep you safe. Improperly disposing of old IT equipment can lead to identity theft. All old IT equipment processed by The Recycle IT Project is properly wiped and destroyed. At a costumer’s request, we can provide a Certificate of Destruction for any piece of IT equipment.
Average Americans are plagued by the dilemma of what to do with their old computers. In 2010, only 40% of the 423,000 TONS of disposed computers were recycled. That’s 507,600,000 pounds of computers that
WERE NOT recycled.
The Recycle IT Project also offers Certificates of Recycling that adhere to the requirements in the R2 guidelines. For more information about R2 certification including by whom the certification is recognized, Legal Requirements to be R2 certified and the proper Documentation that such recyclers must provide as well as much more.
Precious metals can be obtained from recycled IT equipment 17 times more efficiently than from mining. With proper recycling, thousands of tons of lead won’t end up in landfills and, if every computer were recycled, we could save 12 million TONS of fossil fuels.
Another important thing to remember about the Recycle IT Project is that we make every effort to make it EASY for YOU!
We work with you to make all arrangements and whenever possible WE come to YOU so that you don’t have to worry about how to move all of your old, heavy IT equipment.
